Luxury Cruises Are Worth The Upfront Investment

Beth April 2017

Having been in the travel business since 2002, travel has become a big part of my life. After finding Confucius’s quote, “Choose a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life,” I knew this was the job for me!

I’m happy that I’m going to be writing a monthly article in this LO Monthly Magazine. I’m going to try and educate you on travel and different experience options you may not know about.

Having been on just shy of 100 cruises myself, one could say I’m an expert in cruise travel.

There has never been a cruise I’ve been on that I have not enjoyed.

Each cruise line falls into one of three categories of cruises: Contemporary, Premium, and Luxury. Today, let’s focus on luxury cruising.

The name luxury may lead you to think that it’s more expensive than a Contemporary or premium cruise. That is not always the case. With a contemporary or premium cruise you are charged a fare that includes lodging and food in the main dining room. Soft drinks, specialty coffees, alcoholic beverages, specialty dining restaurants, gratuities, and other charges are all additional. (Shore excursions are almost always additional in all three categories.) In the end, the additional expenses on the contemporary and premium cruise lines may
end up costing you more, or at least as much as, the luxury cruises. What you miss out on is the higher level of service, cuisine and experiences.

An example of a luxury cruise company is Crystal Cruises. You’ve probably heard of them. Crystal Cruises has won “World’s Best” by the readers of Conde Nast and Travel and Leisure magazines for over 20 years.

Did you know that in 2015 Crystal Cruises expanded its brand to include these three options;

The Crystal Esprit: a 62 guests (and 85 crew) all suite yacht with a two-person submersible.

Crystal River Cruises: a wider than the standard river cruise ship on the Danube.

Crystal Luxury Air: around the world vacation in 16 to 28 days on a Boeing 777 Dreamliner.

Today there is little excuse for you to stay home and not experience all that the world has to offer.

Confucius also said, “Life is really simple but we insist on making it complicated.”

We at Cruise and Travel Specialists are experts in making your travels uncomplicated and fabulous.
